Appointment Setting as a Lead Generation Model
How appointment setting works: qualification, show rates, and what the buyer is actually receiving.
By RGN Ventures Team
Appointment setting delivers a meeting, not a record. The buyer’s salesperson sits down, by phone or in a room, with a prospect who matched rules you both signed. The agreement can count held meetings, or it can describe a standing quota of them.
The product
A meeting is only as good as the rule that created it. Title, company fit, problem, and timing should be written before the first calendar invite. “They answered the phone” is not a qualification.
Track booked, held, and qualified as three different numbers. Show rate is the number that tells you whether the calendar is real.
Two shapes
Some buyers want each held meeting accounted for on its own. Others want a monthly quota and a reporting rhythm. The first puts more of the variance on production. The second asks both sides to live with a forecast. Neither shape creates a result by itself. The buyer still has to run the meeting.
What you control
You do not control the buyer’s close rate. You do control whether the meeting was with the right person, whether the consent was real, and whether the notes match what was said.
This page does not publish sample commercial terms. They move by vertical, and a made-up pair would look like a promise. Read B2B lead generation if the meeting is with a company, not a household.
