Pay-per-Lead Delivery: Exclusive, Shared, and Live Transfer
How pay-per-lead delivery works: exclusive versus shared leads, live transfers, and why the definition matters more than a label.
By RGN Ventures Team
Pay-per-lead is delivery of a defined event. The event might be a form that met the filters, a call connected live, or a record from a scored file. The product is not a property of the industry. It is a property of exclusivity, age, consent, and whether the buyer can use it.
This page does not publish a rate card.
Exclusive
One buyer receives the lead. They are not racing other companies to the same person. The definition should say so, and the distribution console should be able to prove it.
Shared
Several buyers receive the same lead. Contact rates usually fall, because the prospect gets a stack of calls. Shared leads can still be a rational product for a company with a strong phone team. They are a poor product for a company that needs a quiet, considered sale.
Say the share count in the agreement. “Shared” without a number is not a definition.
Live transfer
The product is a conversation already in progress. The buyer’s person is on the line with the prospect. You are not handing over a record that will be dialed tomorrow. The script, the consent, and the qualification have to be true at the moment of the transfer.
What has to be true underneath
Work backward from the buyer’s ability to use the lead, not from a hope that a label will hold.
Age matters. A lead from this hour is not a lead from last month. Consent matters more than age. A record you cannot lawfully text or call is not a bargain. It is unusable. Quality and compliance is the companion to this page, and the glossary defines the terms.
RGN does not publish a rate card. The verticals page names markets. It does not name commercial terms.
